Tracey graduated from York University in 1995 with a Specialized Honors B.A. in Physical Education and an Honors B.A. in Athletic Therapy, with a certificate in Athletic/Sports Therapy & Sports Administration. During her studies, Tracey worked out of York University’s Sports Therapy Clinic and acted as Head Therapist for York University’s Varsity Women’s Field Hockey Team, Men’s National Freestyle Skiing Team, Men’s Volleyball Team, Men’s Rugby Team and Women’s Rugby Team and was the Replacement Head Therapist for St. Michael’s Junior ‘A’ Hockey Team.
Tracey began her career in Accident Benefits, where she spent 10 years as a Senior Accident Benefits Adjuster specializing in catastrophic and complex disability claims. Tracey joined SOMA in 2006 and is our in-house expert in the understanding and interpretation of the SABS.
Appointed Vice President of SOMA in 2009, then President in 2011, Tracey oversees all aspects of the day to day operations at SOMA. She presently heads up our Catastrophic Claims Coordination and manages SOMA’s mobile Catastrophic Assessment Team, servicing all of Ontario.
Tracey has completed the 4th and 5th Edition AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment Rating Certificate course and is a Certified Catastrophic Impairment Rater. With her diverse background and vast amount of experience in this area, Tracey is an instructor for the AMA Guides certification course that is facilitated by SOMA.
Tracey has also completed extensive ADR training and has her certification, levels 1 – 4.
Tracey is the acting Vice President and plays an extremely active role in the AIAC, which represents over a third of all Independent Medical Examination companies in Ontario.
Lisa Koniaris, BComm.
Senior Director, Operations
Lisa studied Marketing and Communications at Ryerson University, graduating in 1993 with her Bachelor of Commerce degree. During her studies, Lisa worked part time in the claims department of one of Ontario’s largest automobile insurers, gaining valuable experience and developing the knowledge that would lead her to a full time career in Accident Benefits.
Following her graduation, Lisa spent 7 years as an Accident Benefits Adjuster, both in-house and as a road adjuster, handling complex disability and SIU claims. Lisa was a longstanding member of the Improvement Team, where she was able to untilize her business education and claims experience to identify and implement continuous improvements for workflow, policies and procedures. As a Senior member of the claims team, Lisa was instrumental in the training of new hires and junior AB adjusters.
Lisa’s insurance career continued after being promoted to claims management, where she provided strong leadership and direction to her team of adjusters. With a thorough understanding of the claims process and a vast amount of claims experience, Lisa then went on to become an Account Executive for a Toronto-based investigations firm, working extensively with Automobile and Life & Health Insurers, and Employer clients.
In 2007, Lisa joined the SOMA team as Manager, Marketing, and was promoted in 2011 to Senior Director, Operations. She is also responsible for SOMA’s quality assurance, managing the effective application of the ISO Quality Management System.
Shannon Payne
Director, Business and Corporate Development

Shannon, the newest member of the SOMA Management Team, has been delivering strong sales and professional representation to insurance industry clients since 2006. With extensive experience in account management, economic development and business development, Shannon is a welcome addition to the client support that SOMA offers its clients.
Following an extensive career in finance that took her from Toronto all the way to Pickle Lake, Ontario, Shannon’s introduction to the insurance industry was in managing sales for one of the country’s most prominent forensic engineering firms. Her strength in identifying and fostering relationships on both the defense and plaintiff sides then led her to a senior management position with the largest security and private investigation firm in Canada. In addition to marketing and client relationship management, her past responsibilities have included concept development, corporate identity programs, trade advertising, marketing collateral, direct mail campaigns, exhibit graphics, web branding and site design.
In her current role as SOMA’s Director, Business and Corporate Development, Shannon uses her customer-focused style to work closely with our clients, effectively communicate issues and resolutions to internal business teams and provide active business development initiatives. Each client receives the benefit of experience and expertise resulting from Shannon’s strong track record in account management and cultivating relationships.
Janet Biasoni
Manager, Administration
Janet joined the SOMA team in 2005, with a vast amount of Administrative experience in the financial and real estate markets.
Janet studied Business Communication at Ryerson and worked abroad, before beginning an extensive career in high level Administration and Administrative Management.
Janet started at SOMA in an Administrative position and with her strong leadership and people skills was quickly promoted to Assistant Manager and is now the Manager. She currently manages the administrative staff, overseeing the day to day operations of our IE Co-ordination Department.
Teresa Clune
Manager, Quality Assurance
Prior to joining SOMA, Teresa spent 10 years as a litigation law clerk, specializing in personal injury and family law at a Toronto based law firm.
Teresa has been with SOMA for the past three years, holding different positions within our Reports department. Teresa was promoted to Reports Supervisor in 2009 after having demonstrated strong leadership skills and an emphasis on quality and efficiency. After acheiving excellence in this role, Teresa was further promoted to Manager, Quality Assurance.
